I am just so over the passionate rhetoric on both sides. Again please hear me, I am pro-America! I am so pro-America I am registered to vote in 2 counties… ;) That was a little joke for my conspiracy theory friends to lighten the mood. I am in fact only registered in 1 county, as far as I know.

Isn’t laughing good? And healing?! Thank you Lord for the ability to laugh. 

Clearly the point of this post is not political or about the left or right. There are many wiser than me sharing their wisdom on the subjects. So here’s the point of this post… If, WE—Christians were as passionate about sharing the LOVE and GRACE and GOODNESS of God as we are about this election, I am pretty sure this election wouldn’t even matter one iota! And revival would come!

I just watched and also wanted to share this fantastic interview from my new friend (and a new spiritual hero of mine who is living out his calling with passion and devotion!)—Tom Demaree.  He said it best in this interview and is literally WALKING out his faith. He said “...That as the Church goes, so goes the nation! We can’t keep (pointing) our finger at everybody else and say, “When those bad people stop doing bad things, then God will bring revival.” He went on to say “It’s up to us!” and quoted 2 Chronicles 7:14 “if MY people…"

Friends, it’s time for love. It’s time to stop pointing fingers and judging one another. It’s time for Christians to ‘put on love’ and put their mouth and ACTIONS where their alligence lies. If your alliegence is to Jesus Christ than do as the Apostle Paul says and “put on love” EVEN WITH the ‘other side’. 

Ephesians 4:15 says “Instead, speaking the truth in love”—I have found that ’truth’ doesn’t really matter all that much if it’s NOT spoken in love. 

Colossians 3:12-17 says “Therefore as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly LOVED, clothe yourselves with COMPASSION, KINDNESS, HUMILITY, GENTLENESS and PATIENCE. Bear with each other and forgive one another….Let the message of Christ dwell in you richly….AND WHATEVER YOU DO in word or deed, do it in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

I hate to break the news to anyone, but this election is not the answer to all our problems either way it goes. And frankly, it’s NOT the end of the world either. Thank you Lord you are still on the throne come the end of November 8th. 

We need God. And if we want Him back in our country at the forefront we have to represent Him in such a way that convinces those in power He is worth having at the forefront! And friends, He is! 

I am NOT saying “do not be passionate about this election!”—be passionate. But be different than the rest! Be compassionate, kind, humble, gentle and patient. (I didn’t come up with that list—check out Col 3:12 again)

He is good. He is faithful. He is compassionate and loving. He is everything a good Father is, and much much more… Lets represent Him in such a way that honors and wins others to His loving heart! 

In most cases I have found Christians are what keep people from turning to Christ. That has got to change, we should not be the roadblocks to Christ! We should be the trolley ride TO Jesus and His grace and love! 

If you are a Christian, please remember who we represent first. “Christian” in our identity comes before “Republican” or “Democrat”. And people are watching… 

“They” aren’t the enemy. Lets not give any one human(s) any more power than they were intended to have. 

So, who are you going to love from the ‘other' side today? 

Lets put on love and do this together! If we want our Nation to turn back to God, His people need to turn to Him first and represent Him well. 

I love you Right-wings, Left-wings and buffalo wings!--God made you ALL-left and right, with a purpose and destiny and oh how He loves you…
